Fetch!

Holy Fetch, Batman!
I am blind (mostly) and I love to play fetch!

As long as I can hear where the kong bounces, I can find it pretty fast.

I will even drop it at your feet once I trust you will throw it strait again for me.

Doing GREAT!!

Please read my entire Blog.

My first Blog was posted in mid-April and there are a lot of good things to learn about me by reading my 'Health Update' and 'Looking for a Loving Home' posting.

I am responding well to my vitimin suppliments. No more itchy skin, NO panting throughout the night, my high thirst is gone and and zero muscle cramping now. Wow! So nice to get that figured out and taken care of.

I am even becoming mush less frightened of cats!! Great improvements since arriving to Foster Care. Read on and learn more about how wonderful I am......

Health Update

Health Update:

Since being in Foster Care, it has been discovered that I have a rare Calcium deficiency that requires I get daily supplements (most likely for the rest of my life). My symptoms were itchy skin, high thirst, panting, cramping of the limbs and blindness.

The Calcium and D3 supplements are easy to give me and should help with most of the sysmtoms (execpt blindness).

I am still a very good dog, but I must go to a home that is regimented in my daily care.

Looking for a Loving Home

Hi! My name is Pandora and I came to H.O.P.E. in early April.

I got to go strait to a Foster Home due to my needing extra care,

as I am mostly blind and I had a bad wound on my side.

It was quickly discovered that I am house trained and have

great manners both indoors and outside.

I may be blind and run into things, but I do see

contrasting colors (i.e. light against dark and dark against light).

I move around pretty well. I walk with confidence, but I will get caught up in heavy brush if you don't warn me to 'Stop' or say 'careful'. I will need to hear your voice if I get too far from you so I can find you again. But I will halt on a dime when you warn me I'm about to hit danger.

I am super smart! I get along with other dogs, but am a little aloof towards them. Would rather be with my humans. Living with 2 foster k9 brothers and 4 cats right now. I am fine with cats. No danger in my going after them. But you should know I am afraid of cats. They kind of spook me out. If cats leave me alone, I am very happy. If you look behind my right shoulder, you will see my wound. HOPE or Foster Mom can't figure how it happened. I came to them this way. I am on antibiotics and it's healing nicely at this time. I am still learning how to play. Now that I know my surroundings better, I am starting to run with my foster brothers and around the yard. But only for a little bit. My best environment would be a fenced yard or a home that won't let me run outside by myself for long. It's taken me a week to learn my yard. Love to sun bathe......Love to be outside. I walk wonderful on a

lead or off (if I know where I'm going and you are at!). So feel free to contact HOPE at hopemi@chartermi.net for more info or to set a time to come visit me. I will be waiting. P.S. You should know I am afraid of new people. There is a very simple way to help me with that. If you understand the Shepard breed and blind dogs, then I am the perfect dog! If you don't know German Shepards or blind dogs, be sure visit HOPE for many other dogs that would be better suited for you and your family. http://www.myhopeanimalshelter.org/ (906)932-1511
